The Federation which have unite with several galactic government such as Tomoyatalian Empire, Interstellar Republic and several government have declare the Federation in G.C. 1942, the Federation have retake several territory from Star Conflict attack and the Federation have became as great golden era in G.C. 1988 - 2008 before being yet another great war from Star Conflict and the Great Universe War lead several states have independent from federation which lead the Federation decline in G.C. 2014, after the Federation is no longer exist, they have called as Old Federation. Type of Government
The Interstellar Federation was Federal Democratic Republic, the central control was from Tomoyatalian Empire Capital, Chiyuki as main capital and seat of government control since G.C. 1942. Although the Interstellar Federation is the federal republic, the government system is Federal republic under a Elective monarchy which head of states have 10 year term until Empress Miki have rule the Federation with her own successor of Hiiragi family member.
After Death of Tsukasa Hiirag in G.C. 2008, Interstellar Federation being rule under Autocracy by Lady Kasami Hiiragi as sole leader of the Federation after Princess Kagami gone dark memory, although she still keep the Federation States as backup rule as the Federation never have Head of States have high power than her until Princess Kagami have return to power in G.C. 2014. Parties
Interstellar Federation have two dominant party are Populism-lead "Interstellar Party" and Nationalist-lead "Galactica Party", and third one is emergency party "Democratica Party" which both have representative member of the party, there are total 45,000 seat to each membership, each seat are representative to planet. Each president was came from election vote by the population as there are only 4 president per election can be choose and limited to 2 president per party.

Because of Interstellar Federation is Federal Democratic Republic, most of Princess have only 10 year long term and elected a new Princess. After Empress Miki come to power, there are no longer have election on Head of States.

Interstellar Federation is one of most powerful export and manufacturing in Touhou Galaxy to another dimension and universe such as Starship product and advanced technology exporter, as large than most of other galaxy economy.
Military

The Interstellar Federation Military is known as Federation Armed Self-Defense Force (FASDF), the Defense Force is focus on defense against Star Conflict invader. The Federation Armed Self-Defense Force were the most powerful and the most spend budget on it which capable to destroy hostile force and even invasion on other universe, however, the FASDF were not have relation with Interstellar Federation because it was Self-Defense Force that it was operate by the military leader rather with government to prevent much like one were happen to Interstellar Republic military and during era of Empress Miki, the SDF have limited with defense capable only which have one rule that restricted is "General Order 1" of Federation Armed Self-Defense Force which FASDF can't invade or attacking hostile force more than defense the galaxy.
After the disaster of Great Universe War have prove that the Federation Armed Self-Defense Force were ineffective to against the hostile force. After rise of Lastation Empire, Lady Kasami have dissolve the General Order 1 along with replaced with Imperial Lastation Armed Force.

Inspirations
The Interstellar Federation is already based on Star Democratic's Interstellar Federation of Galactic Alliance which original is based on Universal Federation of Alliance which greatly based of origin was United Federation of Planet from Star Trek. In TGP version is also based on United States of America that have predict likely will downfall in disaster war in near future but quick restore after and declare as empire.
The Interstellar Federation is play major role similar South Korea as the Interstellar Federation is focus on defense against enemy of Star Conflict who similar to North Korea who have superweapon capable.
